Jason Smith
President of Product Innovation
Jason oversees worldwide product initiatives and is responsible for ensuring we package the right technology with the right services to keep our clients at the forefront of online research. Jason is a long time company veteran, helping to take us from single office start-up to global industry leader and is a driving force behind our approach to community panels.
Jason brings 15 years of Internet, strategy, marketing and product innovation experience to Vision Critical from a number of leading private and public enterprises. His background includes facilitating a 5 year, $64M online partnership between Coca-Cola and AOL together with the GEM Group of Atlanta, creating a branding and distribution strategy for the world’s largest small boat manufacturer, Walker Bay Boats, and the development of mobile gaming opportunities while serving as Vice President, Special Projects at interactive entertainment leader Electronic Arts (EA). Prior to EA, Jason co-founded Columbus Group Communications, one of Canada’s leading Interactive and Web Applications agencies that was acquired by telecommunications giant TELUS, in 2001.
Jason is the recipient of Ernst and Young’s Emerging Entrepreneur of the Year for the Pacific Region, the Business Development Bank of Canada’s Young Entrepreneur of the Year national award, and is one of Business in Vancouver’s Top 40 under 40. He graduated with an honors Commerce degree (Marketing) from the University of British Columbia and studied at the IAG School of Management in Brussels, Belgium.
