Vision Critical, a leading global consumer insights and technology solutions firm, is proud to announce the establishment of a new award for Canadian sociology practitioners made possible through a generous contribution from Chairman Angus Reid.
The award, co-sponsored by the Angus Reid Foundation, the Canadian Sociological Association (CSA) and the University of Calgary, will be given annually to a Canadian sociologist-practitioner who has made a substantive contribution to Canadian society in the area of social sciences. A committee consisting of academics and community members will outline the criteria and reveal the selection at the CSA’s Annual General Assembly. In addition, a graduate student in the area of applied research will receive a $1,000 scholarship.
“Dr. Angus Reid has made a substantive contribution to the area of applied research over the past three decades,” said CSA President Jim Frideres. “His financial contribution to establish this award underscores his philanthropic value of returning to the community.”
Individuals or organizations wishing to contribute to the fund can contact the CSA and receive a tax receipt for their contribution.
