Want to give Vancouver City Hall a ‘convenient’ piece of your mind?
For those who’d rather avoid yawn-inducing city council meetings but still want to tell the city how they really feel, Vancouver has cooked up a way to solicit opinions from the comfort of your home.
Talk Vancouver, an online platform open to anyone older than 15 who lives, works or studies in Vancouver, aims to engage people who are otherwise too busy for municipal politics, Mayor Gregor Robertson said at the platform’s launch Wednesday.
“It’s really about engaging people where they are,” Robertson said of the simple-to-use website, designed by local tech company Vision Critical (no relation to the mayor’s political party) for smartphones, tablets and computers.
